What does a middle school counselor do?
As professional school counselors, we are here to support the academic, career, and social/emotional needs of our students. We work collobaratively with administration, teachers, and parents/guardians to improve student outcomes in areas of academics, attendance, and discpline. School counselors do this through a variety of interventions including classroom guidance lessons, small group support, and short-term individual counseling. A native Hoosier, I landed in Georgia over 10 years ago after several stops along the Eastern Seaboard. I reside here with my husband and four children, who keep me incredibly busy and constantly laughing. I have been a school counselor for the last several years, and was a middle school langauge arts teacher before that. In my free time, I like to read books, do yoga, try new restaurants, and travel around. I love being a Ritch Raven and supporting our amazing students!

Hola Ritch Ravens! I come to you originally from Southern California but have made my way across the country via living in several different states before landing here in Georgia. I’m excited to begin my 8th year in school counseling as a Ritch Raven. Prior to counseling I was a classroom teacher and ESOL teacher.
